Roop Nagar theft case solved

New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) With the arrest of the main accused, police have solved a case of theft by domestic help and recovered cash and jewellery worth Rs 7 lakh.

Sunita (18), who used to work as a maid in the complainant's house, was arrested in Ranchi where her family is based, police said.

She had allegedly stolen the cash and jewellery from her employer Vipin Mahajan's house in Roop Nagar areas on November 9.

The accused had been working with the Mahajan family for about five months. Of her three brothers, one is in jail and the other is a maoist insurgent, police said.

Further investigations are in progress.
