Punjab under-17 team for Vijay Merchant trophy

Patiala, Nov 22 (UNI) A 15-member Punjab cricket team (under-17) will leave for Hyderabad tomorrow to play in the Elite Group league matches for the Vijay Merchant Trophy in Vishakapatnam early next month.

The manager-cum-coach of the Punjab team, Munish Bali told UNI here today that Punjab will play a few warm-up matches in Hyderabad before leaving for Vishakapatnam where they will play their first match against Baroda on December 2.

Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana are the other teams in the Elite Group.

The Punjab team have a few aspiring players including Kunwar Raina, Perry Goyal, Mohit Mohindra, Robin Dhillon, Preet Kanwal and Jeevanjot.
