No congrats, as Jeev is not a cricketer: Milkha

Chandigarh, Nov 22 (UNI) ''Jeev is not a cricketer, may be that is why he is not being congratulated''.

These were the remarks of an annoyed father, the legendary 'Flying Sikh' Milkha Singh after St John's Old Boys Association (SJOBA) president Vivek Atray today congratulated ace Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh on his superlative achievements by capping a magical year and winning the prestigious Asian Tour's UBS Order of Merit title.

Milkha Singh said neither the Punjab Governor, Gen (retd) S F Rodrigues nor Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had congratualted the family on their son's outstanding achievement. The family has been receiving congratulatory messages from all over the world but not from their home state.

''We belong to Punjab and were are Punjabis. Yet the Punjab government was yet to acknowledge Jeev's performance'', Milkha added.

Mr Atray, who is also Director Public Relations, Chandigarh Administration said that Jeev had done St John's School proud.
