Monkeys rule Khowai town
Agartala, Nov 22 (UNI) Its monkey business in Khowai town of Tripura's West district for the last few days, with the animals sending the people on a tizzy with their rampant attacks.
Official sources revealed that the monkeys have been attacking houses, shops and business establishments, ransacking utensils, valuables, books and clothes besides pounding on cooked eatables.
More then twelve persons, including five children, were attacked and injured by the monkeys since last one and half month.
The local people submitted a memorendum to the Sub-Divisional officer demanding immediate steps to save lives and properties of the common people and to end the monkey menace.
The SDO brought the matter to the notice of the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) and was taking steps to control the monkey menace.
