Monica's case: Witness' statement not recorded

Bhopal, Nov 22: A local court was today not able to record statement of witness in a fake passport case, involving underworld don Abu Salem and his girlfriend, who is also a starlet.

The recording of statement of naib tahsildar Maksood was listed in Judicial Magistrate Dinesh Kumar Dangi's court.

However, his statement was not recorded, as he did not bring the concerned record.

Monica was present in court for about 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, verdicts on an application by prosecution regarding making Siraj a government witness and an application by defence on having a separate court case against Monica were expected tomorrow.

On November 28, 2001, a case was registered at the Koh-i-Fiza Police Station against Salem, Samira and Monica for having fake passports made at the regional passport office using the names Danish Baig, Rubina Baig and Fauzia Osman respectively.
