Metal prices rise on heavy industrial demand
Mumbai, Nov 22 (UNI) Metal prices rose on heavy industrial demand in line with London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.
In the ferrous category, copper heavy and copper utensils hiked by Rs 500 and Rs 400 per quintal respectively while brass utensils and brass cuttings shot up by Rs 300 and Rs 700 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and aluminium ingots went up by Rs 400 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively while zinc slab and lead ingots edged up by Rs 800 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on increased demand.
Tin slab and nickel cathode went up by Rs five and Rs 30 per kg respectively on lesser stock supply.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,000, copper utensils - Rs 31,000, brass utensils - Rs 22,100, brass cuttings - Rs 26,000 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,800.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 37,500, aluminium ingots - Rs 13,800, zinc slab - Rs 23,200, lead ingots - Rs 7,800, tin slab - Rs 580 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,770 (per kg).
