Ludhiana, Nov 22 (UNI) Ludhiana Police have solved a case of kidnapping and murder of city-resident Bikramjit Singh, whose body was found at Barog hill station of Himachal Pradesh in June this year.

The accused has been identified as inter-state gangster Jagminder Singh alias Sumit Sharma, arrested two days back in a car theft case, who confessed that he and his accomplices had kidnapped Bikramjit Singh for ransom and later killed him and abandoned the body at an isolated place in Barog, a Punjab Police spokesman said in a release here today.

Jagminder Singh alias Sumit Sharma was being interrogated in a car theft case when the cops noticed the brand of his shoes as a similar brand shoes had been purchased on the credit card of deceased Bikramjit Singh from a Gurgaon shopping mall after the murder of the deceased.

This clue was enough as Jagminder confessed his crime of kidnapping and shooting Bikramjit Singh dead in Himachal pradesh and then using his credit cards for shopping from the malls at Gurgaon which included those shoes as well.

Jagminder also revealed the names of his accomplices in kidnapping and killing Bikramjit Singh, who include Rajinder of Ludhiana and Ranjit of Raikot in Ludhiana district.

The three had kidnapped Bikramjit Singh along with the latter's luxury car in Ludhiana on June 26 and then took him to Barog in Himachal where they robbed him of his wrist watch, credit cards and wallet and then shot him dead fearing that he is revealed their identities after being released by them.

The Himachal police had cremated the body on July one as an ''unclaimed body''. After it was revealed that that body was of Bikramjit Singh only, the Ludhiana cops had begum the investigations.
