KSO and KCA urge CM to deactivate landmines

Imphal, Nov 22 (UNI) The Kuki Chief's Association and Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) today urged Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh to deactivate the mines suspected to have been planted by outfits at Manipur's Chandel district.

In a memorandum to Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, both the organisations have stated that about 26 people have been killed due to the mine blasts in Chandel and urged him to control the menace immediately.

They have urged the government to take neccessary action to deactivate the mines and demanded adequate security force in the area.

They alleged that despite the repeated pleas the government had failed to contain the situation.
