Jeweller kidnapped, killed

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 22 (UNI) A jewellery merchant was brutally killed by two youth over a dispute on loan at Kavitam Locks in Poduru Mandal of West Godavari District.

The police nabbed the two culprits within hours of the offence and produced them before a court at Narsapur this evening.

Police here today said Balanagu Ravichandra (30), a jewellery merchant and President of Arya Vysya Yuvajana Sangham of Achanta Village, was kidnapped by P Ravi(30) and P Sudhakar (35) on Monday nigh when he was on his way to his house from Marteru on a motorcycle.

They brough the jeweller to their room and killed him. After the offence,the youth took the body on a motorcycle to Kavitam Locks and threw it into the Kvitam Canal.

The youths reportedly owed Rs 10,000 to Mr Ravichandra.

Following a complaint from the victim's family members, the police plunged into action and arrested them.

The body was sent for post-mortem to Narsapuram Hospital.
