Patiala, Nov 22 (UNI) Due to overnight rain, only 63 minutes of play was possible on a soggy wicket on the second day of the Polly Umrigar Trophy (Under-15) match between the formidable Punjab outfit and underdogs Himachal Pradesh at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium here today.

Overnight 359 for 3, Punjab skipper declared the innings after seeing the weather. But play was not possible in the first session as the ground conditions were not conducive.

The two umpires, A Bannerji from Kolkata and Umesh Dubey from Mumbai, inspected the pitch and ground conditions and decided against starting play. After the umpires inspected the pitch again in the afternoon, the play commenced after the tea break.

At the end of day two, Himachal Pradesh were precariously placed with the score reading 24 for two in 18.5 overs. The umpires called off the match before the scheduled closing time due to poor light.

Atish with five and Vinayak on 11 were at the crease at draw of stumps. For Punjab, Gurinder and Bhavish Goyal captured a wicket each, conceding 5 and 9 runs respectively.
