Haryana, Canada to explore joint ventures

Chandigarh, Nov 22 (UNI) Haryana and Canada can work jointly in many areas of development and explore new avenues for setting up joint ventures.

This was stated by Consul General of Canadian Consulate General Helen Economo Amundsen who called on Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here this evening.

The Chief Minister sought Canadian cooperation in the areas of food processing, power and automotives saying that Haryana has ample potential in these areas.

Mr Hooda said Haryana had the locational advantage as it surrounded the national capital from three sides. Haryana was already a major manufacturer of cars, motorcycles, tractors and bicycles, he added.

Ms Helen assured Mr Hooda of all Canadian assistance and invited him to visit Montreal in June next or send a delegation as a mega event will be organised with focus on India.

It would help in promotion of trade and industry, she said adding that all prominent companies of North America would also send their representatives to attend this event.
