Gujarat to take on Rajasthan tomorrow in Ranji match

Ahmedabad, Nov 20 (UNI) The Parthiv Patel-led Gujarat team will take on Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy four-day match beginning tomorrow at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera near here.

Test discard Patel has replaced Mukund Parmar, who retired as the team captain at the end of last year's Ranji season.

The team will be missing Siddharth Trivedi, the fast bowler, who recently took six wickets for West Zone against Sri Lanka A in the Duleep Trophy, as he will not be playing due to back problem.

In the last season, Gujarat had managed two wins against Delhi and Karnataka.

On the other hand, Rajasthan led by former Test player Ajay Jadeja will be boasting of two overseas imports, Vikram Solanki and Kabir Ali. The Worcestershire cricketers will turn out for Rajasthan in the match.

The teams: Gujarat: Parthiv Patel (c, wk), Nilesh Modi, Aakash Christian, Niraj Patel, Kiran Damani, Bhavik Thakkar, Azar Bilakia, Timil Patel, Jayesh Makala, Sahil Patel, Lalit Patel, Ashraf Makda, Hitesh Majumdar, Amit Singh.

Rajasthan: Ajay Jadeja (c), Rahul Kanwat (vc), Gagan Khoda,Vikram Solanki, Kabir Ali, Nikhil Doru, M Aslam, Vineet Saxena, Dishant Yagnik, Pankaj Singh, Shailender Gehlot, Sumit Mathur, Nishan Singh.
