Gowda asks JD(S) workers to shatter Congress 'day dream'
Mysore, Nov 22 (UNI) Janata Dal (Secular) President and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda today called upon the party workers to ''shatter the day dream'' of the Congress that the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government will collapse after the December four Chamundeshwari Assembly byelection.
Inaugurating the joint election campaign office of JD(S) and BJP here, he criticised the Congress leaders for labelling the JD(S) candidate Shivabasappa as ''uneducated'' and said educated persons without humility, reasoning and courtesy would do no good to the society.
Mr Gowda expressed his gratitude to the BJP, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and BJP State President D V Sadananda Gowda for supporting the JD(S) candidate in the byelection.
Stating that he had seen 13 such elections since 1957 and never in the past polls had been fought on caste considerations, he blamed the Congress and its candidate and former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for ''polluting election politics''.
He announced that both JD(S) and BJP leaders would undertake padayatra along with him in Chamundeshwari consitutency. ''We will go door to door to seek the support of voters.'' UNI BSP GD TS1900
