Election petition against Amarinder adjourned till Nov 29
Chandigarh, Nov 22 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today adjourned the hearing to November 29 on the petition challenging the election of Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh to the Vidhan Sabha from Patiala in the 2002 assembly polls.
The petitioner alleged that Capt Singh had indulged in corrupt practices including taking assistance of the state government employees and spending far more than the limit prescribed by the Election Commission.
Justice Satish Kumar Mittal heard the cross examination of the petitioner Harkirat Singh of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) on the issue of use of vehicles by Capt Singh in poll campaign before adjourning the hearing.
