Demand for mining engineers rising in Australia
Kolkata, Nov 21 (UNI) The demand for mining engineers is rising in Australia.
One third of foreign income of Australia is generated by exploring mineral resources such as gold, iron ore and coal. This is reflected in demand for mining engineers, Australian Trade Commission's Counsellor Commercial Craig Senger told reporters here today.
Association of Australian Education Representatives in India president Ravi Lochan Singh said Australia has been the second destination for Indian students after US.
About 15,000 students have gone to Australia this year as against 24,000, which have gone to US.
"This shows the growing potential for Indian students in Australia," he said.
Mining exports in Australia stand at 43-44 billion dollars.
Indo-Australia bilateral trade stands at 8 million dollars.
