Dacoit tricks police, flees by jumping before train
Dholpur, Nov 22 (UNI) Dacoit Sanju, nephew of notorious dacoit Jagjivan Parihar escaped from the police's custody by jumping in front of a train at the railway station here.
Sanju, lodged in Etawah jail in Uttar Pradesh, was brought to Dholpur for a court hearing yesterday.
According to the Railway police, after the hearing when they returned to the station, Sanju freed himself from the ropes and jumped on the tracks as the Jhelum Express was approaching and escaped to the other side. The police were taken by surprise.
Sub-inspector Manoj Kumar, Sipahi Madan Verma and Shivilal informed the police about the incident, who in turn informed the Dholpur police. A report was filed at the Bharatpur Railway police station.
At least seven cases are lodged against Sanju at various police stations in Etawah in Uttar Pradesh, Dholpur in Rajasthan and Bhind in Madhya Pradesh.
Sanju belongs to Garhi Harecha village in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh and is the nephew of Jagjivan Parihar, who carries a reward of Rs five lakh.
