Criminal Justice Under Stress : World Meet
New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) Experts from the around the world will meet in the Indian Capital this week to discuss Criminal Justice under Stress: Transnational Perspectives.
The two-day conference will be inaugurated by President A P J Abdul Kalam at Vigyan Bhavan on November 24, with Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal presiding over the function.
The participants will hold business sessions on Terrorism and Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice System-Shift from Justice Model to Crime Control Model, International Criminal Court and Money Laundering- A Menace Uncontrolled.
Among those to address the inaugural event will be Law and Justice Minister Hans Raj Bhardwaj, seniormost Supreme Court Judge K G Balakrishnan and Attorney General Milon K Banerjee.
The participants will include Chief Justices of England and Wales, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Singapore and Canada.
The international conference is being held by Indian Law Institute as a part of its year long Golden Jubilee celebration opened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on August 4.
It has held a seminar on Equity and Equality in a Market Economy and has more events on the cards. It intends to publish the findings of these meets at the end of the year.
