Cong activists damage, burn SP hoardings

Varanasi, Nov 22 (UNI) Protesting the ''anti-people'' policies of the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, Congress today staged a demonstration here and burnt hoardings bearing images of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

As part of Congress' statewide 'jail bharo andolan', party activists gathered at the district headquarters this afternoon and staged a massive demonstration against the Mulayam regime.

Later, they damaged hoardings bearing the pictures of the CM. The protestors also set afire some hoardings.

Police personnel deployed at the spot, however, prevented the situation from worsening further.
