BEML to manufacture, supply Terex trucks

Bangalore, Nov 22 (UNI) Public Sector Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) has signed an agreement with the US-based Terex Corporation for production and supply of its (Terex) advanced technology trucks.

Under the agreement, BEML would manufacture and supply state-of-the-art high-end higher-capacity AC and DC drive electric Rear Dump Trucks, ranging from 120 ton to 360 ton payload capacities, according to a company release here today.

The tie-up with Terex would enable BEML to bring home the latest AC Drive technology for haulage trucks, which were in great demand the world over with its proven high productivity, the release said.

With a commitment to continuously update mining equipment technology, BEML had introduced simulators for operator training, besides efforts to induct state-of-the-art technology to build better productive machines.

BEML was also proactively looking at entry into contract mining in a big way due to the boom in mining operations across the country. To effect economy in operation and maintenance of high-cost equipment, BEML had been handling annual maintenance contracts and service contracts with coal companies at some of their prestigious projects, which have not only added to the topline revenues of the company but also higher availability of BEML equipment with customers, the release said.
