APCC memorandum to CEC on Karimnagar bypoll 'malpractice'
Hyderabad, Nov 22 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today submitted a memorandum to the State Chief Electoral officer (CEO) urging him to order a probe into the transportation of money and cricket kits to Karimnagar for alleged distribution to voters.
The bye-election to the Karimnagar Lok Sabha Constituency will be held on December four.
Speaking to mediapersons here, APCC Leader Chakrapani alleged the Telagnana Rastra Samithi (TRS) had conspired to malign the party by organising 'stage managed' events.
TRS MLA Harish Rao was behind the episode (of transportation of cricket kits and money), he alleged.
Meanwhile, CEO Bhaskar told the mediapersons he had received a report from the district Collector and further investigation ordered for preparation of factual report.
He said the Collector's report confirmed that money was also being transported for distribution.
