500 TRS activists join Cong
Hyderabad, Nov 22 (UNI) Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) activists belonging to Karimnagar Parliamentary Constitutency today joined Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at his camp office.
Nearly 500 TRS activists belonging to the Muslim community joined the Congress. Former Minister Bashiruddin Babukhan and City Congress General Secretary Sayed Shah Mujahiduddin were also present.
In his address, Dr Reddy said the state government was committed to provide five per cent reservation to Muslims in education and employment.
The Congress Government had inceased the budget for minority scholarship from Rs four crore to Rs ten crore in 2005. It was hiked to Rs 33 crore during the current year, a press release quoting him said.
