5 girls drown in Puana river

Lucknow, Nov 22 (UNI) Five girls drowned today, when their overloaded boat capsized in Puana river in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police said the mishap occurred in Rehdauli village under Urva police station area, where the ill-fated boat carrying 12 passengers capsized.

While five girls drowned, seven others were saved by divers.

The deceased were identified as Pallavi (8), Pragati (6), Dimpi (7), Puja (12) and Gargi (15).
