Zilla Parishad deputy education officer in ACB net

Akola, Nov 21 (UNI) The deputy education officer at the Akola Zilla Parishad was today allegedly caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

Vikas Shridhar Tadas had allegedly demanded the bribe for approving the appointment of 20 employees to the Maharshi Walmiki Vidyalaya at Anwi Mirzapur and Kalambeshwar in this district.

Anti Corruption Bureau DySP Vinod Ingole told UNI that Mrs Shobha Anil Bonde, the headmistress of the Vidyalaya, approached the official to seek approval for the appointments, but Tadas allegedly demanded Rs six lakh.

Following a complaint lodged with the ACB, a trap was laid and Tadas was arrested while allegedly accepting the first instalment of Rs 50,000.
