Kolkata, Nov 21 (UNI) Bedlam prevailed in the West Bengal Assembly today over yesterday's blast in north Bengal with the Trinamool Congress and Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) members staging a walk-out.

The members walked out of the House following Speaker H A Halim's refusal to allow two separate adjournment motions on the blast.

Earlier, as soon as the Assembly met for the day, the Trinamool Congress, the Congress and SUCI members demanded that Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee immediately make a statement on the incident.

The Speaker directed Parliamentary Affairs Minister Probodh Sinha to inform the House when the Chief Minister would make a statement on the incident. Mr Bhattacharjee, however, later made a statement.

The House condemned the incident and two minutes' silence was observed in memory of the deceased.
