Notice to Haryana minister on recruitment issue

Chandigarh, Nov 21 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice to Haryana Public Health Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala among others in connection with the alleged backdoor recruitment of daily wagers in the Public Health Department.

A writ petition in this respect has been filed by one Ram Phal of Ranjhli village in Hisar district and eleven others which came up for preliminary hearing before the court's division bench of Justices M M Kumar and M M S Bedi.

The petitioners pointed out that they were working on daily wage basis in the public health department since 2001. However, their services were done away with suddenly without assigning any reason in September this year. The concerned authorities also made fresh appointments on daily wage basis in their place which was illegal and arbitrary.

It has also been alleged that majority of the newly appointed people belonged to the constituency of Mr Surjewala. They have sought directions to for their reinstatement and quash the new appointments.
