Chennai, Nov 21 (UNI) Looks like the hoax bomb culture has caught up with kids too with the police warning two school children, aged six and 11 for telephoning the control room and warning that bombs planted at a private school in suburban Polichalur would go off at any time.

Rajan (10) and his sister Gowri Sankar (6), studying in fifth and second standard, respectively at a private nursery school at suburban Pammal, were playing with the mobile phone of their father at home.

They apparently drew the 'inspiration' to make the call from a television channel which carried a report on the arrest of a 20-year-old youth for making a hoax bomb call saying an explosive planted on the Chennai-Coimbatore Superfast Cheran Express would go off when the train reached Salem.

The mischievous boys decided to play a prank and made a similar call to the police control room.

The police immediately traced out the mobile number from the caller ID and rushed to their house. Seeing the men in uniform, the boys started crying.

It was only after the police told them, the parents knew their wards had pulled a fast one.

The duo spilled the beans and said they just wanted to have some fun.

The police then gave a stern warning to the children and cautioned the parents against allowing them to handle mobile phones without any valid reason.
