Mystery shrouds 'double murder' in city

Chennai, Nov 21 (UNI) Mystery shrouds the murder of an aged couple, P A Jacob (65) and his wife Moni Jacob (58), here with the police forming special teams to nab the culprits.

Police said Mr Jacob, a retired Manager of a private firm and his wife were found dead in their bungalow in Velachery on Monday night.

The bodies were found tied up in their bedroom, and had begun to decompose.

The double murder came to light when police while making an enquiry about an abandoned car at suburban Padappai area, came to know that the car belonged to the murdered couple, police added.

When police reached Jacob's home, a foul smell was emanating along with a strong odour of gas.

The police removed the bodies for post-mortem, police said.
