Muncipality urges chairperson to streamline Cable TV functioning

Puducherry, Nov 21 (UNI) As many as nine Councillors of the Puducherry municipality today urged the Chairperson Dr Sreedevi to streamline the functioning of the Cable TV Operators here.

In a joint statement, the Councillors said several lakh of rupees was due for the municipality towards entertainement tax and steps should be taken to collect it forthwith. The licence of those, who failed to remit the entertainement tax be cancelled, they demanded.

They alleged that different rates were being collected from subscribers for the monthly subscription and demanded its regulation.
