Monica's case: witnesses' statements not recorded

Bhopal, Nov 21 (UNI) Absence of two witnesses prevented a local court from recording statements in a fake passport case, involving underworld don Abu Salem and his girlfriend Monica Bedi, who is also a starlet.

The statements of witnesses Shagufta and S K Tiwari were to be recorded in the court of Judicial Magistrate D K Dangi today.

As the witnesses were absent, Monica was not brought in the court.

The next hearing will take place tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Special Sessions Judge Anurag Srivastava will deliver verdict on an application by Monica's counsel P C Bedi regarding removing the name Faujia from Monica's name tomorrow.

Earlier, the petition was quashed by Mr Dangi's court.
