Meghna and Nalini lead Northern India

New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) Meghna Bal and Nalini Singh overcame windy conditions on day one of the 39th Ladies Northern India Golf Championship here today to bring in cards of two-over 72 and take the lead in the field of 32 contestants.

Two strokes behind the leader on 76 are young Vaishavi Sinha and old timer Shruti Khanna with recently crowned Noida Ladies Champion, Laverry Kumar, trailing them by five strokes. The excitement of the day however was the hole-in-one on the fifth hole by 12-year-old Meher Atwal who plays of a creditable handicap of -8.
