Pune, Nov 21 (UNI) The Maharashtra Billiards and Snooker Association (MBSA) has chalked up ambitious plans to promote the games, especially among girls, association vice president Rajan Khinvasara today said.

Mr Khinvasara, who has been recently appointed as MBSA vice president, said, ''We have the maximum number of eight world champions in the game, and would like to promote the game among girls.'' ''Unless we provide proper opportunities to the girls, the green baize games will remain the preserve of men,'' he said. Women have excelled in other disciplines of sports and they should make a mark in these games too, he added.

The MBSA managing committee has also drawn up plans to take the cue games to the rural areas and discover the talents there, he said.
