M L Sharma is new CBI Special Director

New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) Additional Director M L Sharma, a 1972 batch IPS of the Rajasthan Cadre, has been made Special Director in the CBI.

A recipient of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 1988 and President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 1995, Mr Sharma has 15 years of experience in the CBI working as SP, DIG and Joint Director.

He was also IG (CID) Crime Branch in Rajasthan for about four years and Additional Director General (Vigilance) of the state, and Additional Director General, Border Security Force before joining the Central investigating agency in April 2005 as Additional Director.

At present, Mr Sharma heads the CBI's Special Crimes and Economic Offence Division.
