ITPO GM's wife found murdered
New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) The wife of the general manager of the India Trade Promotion Organisation was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her residence in Pitampura in North-West Delhi.
Though no injuries have been found on her body it is suspected that Sreelata (49) who was found lying at her Pushpanjali Enclave in Pitampura residence yesterday evening by her husband Appa Rao M Wadi, general manager ITPO, was strangled according to sources.
Mr Wadi found her lying dead after he returned from office at about 2030 hrs. He immediately rang the police who took her to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The house was ransacked though the Police said not much was missing despite conceding that the motive was mainly robbery.
However, sources said the earrings of the decesaed were missing.
The Wadis, who had been living in the house since 1990, have a son who is in the United States.
Meanwhile, the police have detained a recently appointed maid Asha and are questioning her.
The earlier maid Babita was on leave.
A case has been registered under Section 302, 397, police added.
