HC reprieve for High School student
Allahabad, Nov 21 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today directed the secretary of Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, to conduct an enquiry into a matter, where a petitioner was shown to have got 22 marks though in fact she was awarded 76 marks in home science paper of the High School examination.
The order was passed by Justice Vineet Saran on a writ petition filed by Poonam -- a native of Badaun district.
The court directed the secretary of the Madhyamik Shiksha Parisad to take action against the guilty. The Court also awarded Rs 5,000 to the petitioner as cost, which shall be paid by the parishad.
The petitioner, a student of the Raja Ram Girls Inter College, Badaun, was declared failed in the examination. The Court on request of the petitioner had summoned the answer book of the petitioner. After persual, it was found that instead of 72 marks she was wrongly given 22 in home science.
