Fire in wagon of goods train

Bhilai, Nov 21 (UNI) A fire broke out in the wagon of a stationary goods train between Bhilai and Power House stations of Southeastern Central Railway and petroleum worth several lakhs of rupees was destroyed.

Raipur Rail Division PRO A K Jaiswal said fire brigade teams were immediately pressed into service and the fire was controlled before it could spread.

He said oil companies depots were near the spot and the fire could have wreaked havoc if it was not controlled in time.

He claimed rail traffic was not affected.

However, railway sources said some trains were halted at Raipur and Durg stations due to the incident.
