"Failure" of state's IB and CID department : PCC

Kolkata, Nov 21 (UNI) Condemning yesterday's bomb blast in Haldibari passenger train in North Bengal, the West Bengal Congress today came down heavily on the IB and CID departmens for '' failing'' to prevent such incident.

PCC working president Pradip Bhattacharjee told mediapersons here that though several incidents were happening in Jalpaiguri, no ''concrete step'' had yet been taken by the government.

The government should form special police force and revamp the state's IB and CID departments to tackle the militant groups, he said.

''The ruling party cannot tackle militancy alone and so we are appealing to them for convening an all party meeting for discussion on this,'' he opined.
