Cong wrecked SNDP-NSS unity move: Vellapally
Thiruvanathapuram, Nov 21 (UNI) Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam General Secretary Vellapally Natesan today said the Congress leadership in Kerala had wrecked the unity move between the SNDP and the Nair Service Society (NSS).
Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that PCC President Ramesh Chennithala and former Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan had played a role in this with the support of Opposition Leader Oommen Chandy.
Mr Natesan also said that the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front's rule had not risen to the people's expectations. ''Even though six months is not a period for evaluating a government, the Left had not risen to the expectations,'' he said.
On the unsavoury remarks by Devaswom Minister G Sudhakaran on the Cochin Devaswom Board President, Mr Natesan said the Minister should not have used such language.
Stating that community organisations had played a major role in Kerala politics, Mr Natesan claimed that no party could have come to power without the help of these organisations. Even the candidates for the elections were chosen on community basis, he added.
