BJP slams UPA govt for appeasing Muslims

Ayodhya, Nov 21 (UNI) The Bhartiya Janata Party today claimed that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) governments attempt to save Afzal Guru -- the prime accused in the Parliament attack on December 13, 2001 -- was as a step to appease Muslims in order to increase their vote bank.

Addressing a gathering here, senior party leader Venkaiah Naidu said ''a terrorist is a terrorist. The most stringent action ought to be taken against him at once as justice delayed is justice denied.'' Expressing concern over the 'dismal' law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, the former party President noted that the people of the state lack basic amenities like water and electricity.

He alleged the Samajwadi-led UP government had not undertaken any development schemes.
