Panaji, Nov 21 (UNI) Chief Arbiter K Murali Mohan disqualified Sarojini Devi N of Andhra Pradesh from the National under-7 chess championship for being overage.

The decision was taken following the result of an age evaluation medical check-up here late last night.

The check-up was conducted following allegations from the Tamil Nadu manager, Mr Palaniappan against Saroji Devi and P Tejasvini, both from Andhra Pradesh. While Tejasvini was cleared by the examining authority, Sarojini Devi was found to be between 9-12 years of age, official sources said.

Sarojini stood at fourth place with 7.5 points in ten rounds.
