Bomb scare: A'bad-bound Gujarat Express delayed

Bharuch, Nov 21: A day after a bomb scare on the Ashram Express, the Ahmedabad-bound Gujarat Express, which left Mumbai at 0600 hrs today, had to be stopped at Bharuch station following a call that there was a bomb on the train.

The call, made to the Government Railway Police (GRP), turned out to be a hoax, a railway spokesman said.

The train was thorougly searched by bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs after it reached Bharuch at 1148 hrs.

It finally left the station at 1325 hrs.

Last evening, the Delhi-bound Ashram Express had been delayed by over two hours after a call was recieved by the GRP that RDX had been hidden in one of its coaches. The call also turned out to be a hoax.
