About one lakh Indecent books seized

Chennai, Nov 21 (UNI) Police seized one lakh obscene books at three different places and arrested seven persons in this connection here today.

Acting on a tip-off, a police party conducted a search at two godowns and a lorry parcel office at Triplicane and Chinthadripet areas.

Preliminary probe revealed that the books were printed at neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and brought here for distribution.

Police said the seizure was the highest ever in the city in the recent past.
