2 EFR men injured in mine blast
West Midnapore, Nov 21 (UNI) Two EFR personnel were injured, one of them critically, in a landmine blast at Hatidoba village near Tarafeni barrage under Belpahari police station here this morning.
Earlier reports had said that a BSF personnel had been killed in the blast.
District Magistrate B P Barat said the explosion, triggered by the Maoists, occurred at around 0830 hours when about 25 Eastern Frontier Rifle personnel were on a routine walking patrol on a village road in the border of Bankura district.
One of the personnel Rosan Tamang was the last to cross the area when the mine exploded. The impact of the blast was such that he was flung up a few feet in the air. He sustained grievous wounds.
Another personnel was also injured.
Both of them had been rushed to the Jhargram Hospital where Rosan's condition was stated to be critical.
