Visa guidelines for Chinese streamlined

This has been done within the contours of an existing MoU signed between India and China in 2003, home ministry sources said here today.
The streamlining is significant in view of keen interest envisaged by Chinese business companies in investing in India.
To facilitate a relatively longer stay of Chinese business people for bona fide purpose, A business visa of 6 months validity and allowing multiple entry can be extended here in India on merit up to one year. Similarly, Business Visa of 60 days can be extended up to 180 days and the entry can be increased from single to multiple here in India, on merit.
Employment Visa for Chinese Nationals can now be extended here in India up to five years on a yearly basis subject to no adverse activity and the foreigner continuing to keep his/her employment.
Dependents of 'E' visa holders will get 'X'- Visa co-terminus with the duration of the visa of the principal visa holder.
Chinese nationals married to Indians will also get 'X'-Visa.
The above provisions will ensure easier movement and stay of Chinese business persons, professionals and their dependents in India for bona fide purposes.
