USTDA in tie up for energy study projects in India
Kolkata, Nov 20 (UNI) US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has inked a tie up with Indian government for study on the proposed national gas grid and the Coal Bed Methane (CBM) clearing house.
The Petroleum Ministry has signed the MOU with USTDA for the national gas grid study, while Coal Ministry has signed the agreement with US Environment Protection agency for the CBM clearing house, USTDA country manager south Asia Marian Bassett told reporters here today.
USTDA is the US government's agency that advances economic development and US Commercial interests in developing and middle income countries.
Ms Bassett said CBM clearing house provides important information about the sector.
USTDA is already involved in a study on CBM with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) in a block at Madhya Pardesh, she said.
USTDA is also looking at co-operation with India in transportation, agriculture and aviation sector.
For the fiscal ended September 30, 2006 USTDA had spent five million US dollars for projects in India.
