Two candidates withdraw names from Pandhana by-election

Bhopal, Nov 20 (UNI) Five candidates were left in the fray with two candidates withdrawing their names for December 4 by-election to the Pandhana assembly constituency.

Official sources said independent candidates Prakash Akle and Swaroopchand Chakle withdrew names.

The candidates in the race included Mr Hiralal Silawat (Congress), Mr Devandra Verma (BJP), Mr Vasudev Atut (Bharatiya Jan Shakti), Mr Navneet Gajbhajiye (GGP) and independent candidate Umashankar.

The by-election was necessitated due to the death of BJP legislator Kishorilal Verma. The BJP had fielded his son from the seat.
