Tributes paid to Indira Gandhi
Ranchi, Nov 19 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi today paid tributes to Indira Gandhi on her 89th birth anniversary in a function organised at Rajbhawan here.
Mr Razi said Indira Gandhi was the leader of mass and she paid special attention for the upliftment of downtrodden by implementing several welfare schemes.
He said birth anniversary of Ms Gandhi was being observed as 'National Unity Week' and appealed to the people to maintain the communal harmony.
Anti-social forces were trying to disturb the peace of the country and on many ocassions terrorists attempted to create problem but due to unity among the people those forces failed in their aim Mr Razi added.
In another function organised at Congress office in the state capital, Chairman of the AICC's minority cell Imran Kidwai and party leaders paid floral tributes to Indira Gandhi.
