Tibetans protest Hu Jintao's visit to India
Mysore, Nov 20 (UNI) Hundreds of Tibetans, under the banner of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Regional Tibetan Women's Association of Bylakuppe and Hunsur, today took out a procession in the city in protest against the four-day official visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao to the country.
The procession passed through the main thoroughfare and culminated at the Deputy Commissioner's office, where they submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, alleging that Jintao, as head of the Tibetan Autonomous Region, in 1989 had imposed martial law in Tibet and ordered violent crackdown on peaceful demonstrators, killing thousands of Tibetans.
The protestes carried banners and placards and shouted anti-China slogans.
