Three consume poison, one dead

Anand, Nov 20 (UNI) A young man died after he and his two nieces allegedly consumed poison at Pij chowkdi in Kheda district, 20 km from here, on Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway yesterday.

Police today said the deceased, Sumanbhai Rana (30), was travelling with his two nieces in an autorickshaw from Petlad. When the auto reached Pij chowkdi, they swallowed the poisonous substance. They were rushed to civil hospital at Nadiad, where Rana died. The two girls, however, are stated to be out of danger.

The three are native of Petlad town in Anand district, police added.
