Three arrested in dual murder

Nadia, Nov 20 (UNI) Police today arrested three people allegedly involved in the murder of two CPI(M) activists in the district last evening.

The three are Paresh Biswas, Balaram Debnath and Ajit Das. Of them Ajit Das is the local CPI secretary and also a CPI State Committee Member.

He alleged that he had been falsely implicated in the case by CPI(M).

Meanwhile, police arrested one man at Gajna border of the district for trying to smuggle 320 gms of contraband into Bangladesh.

Police said the man was arrested and then produced in the court.
