Sweta denies manhandling by husband

Dehradun, Nov 20 (UNI) Sweta Mahajan, wife of Rahul Mahajan, today refuted reports of her manhandling by her husband in a Mumbai based newspaper and flatly denied any such thing had ever happened.

''It is only a baseless rumour,'' Sweta told mediapersons at her parental home at Old Survey Road, Dalanwala in Dehradun.

She also urged the media not to violate her privacy.

Sweta's father Brigadier HC Singh said Sweta had come down to her parental home yesterday as other brides do after their marriage.

''We would certainly take possible legal action against anybody trying to malign the name of our family,'' he said.

Sweta was married two-and-a-half-months back to Rahul Mahajan, son of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan. The family is in the news since the death of senior Mahajan with Rahul getting involved in charges of drug abuse a few months back. He again became the focus of attention after a newspaper in Mumbai published his alleged wife-beating.
